The trip starts at Montana and follows the main path up towards Ulriken a few hundred meters. After the first turn, Oppstemten appears. Great stone-built stairs built by Sherpas. Practical work of some stairs, with integrated pause benches and view places in several places.
The path is 750 meters long, with a height difference of 290 meters. The average incline is 22 degrees. The work has been carried out during three summer seasons. The work started in June 2016. The first year, almost 300 steps were made. In 2017, the work continued, and by the end of the season they had come up in over 900 steps. The stairs were completed in September 2018 with 1500 steps.
"111,000 people have used Oppstemten in the summer of 2018, and in July alone, 50,844 people took the trip up to Ulriken".
