Crossing the Vidden plateau between Mount Ulriken and Mount Fløyen is the classic long hike in Bergen!
Whether you are starting from Fløyen or Ulriken, the hike is a journey through varied nature with incredible views and exciting sights along the route. We recommend stopping at the Human Rights Cairn at Storefjellet, or taking the lunch stop at Borgaskaret. Get a free map of the hike at Ulriken's upper station, where we have marked all the exciting stops for you.
The hike over the Vidden is well marked and has many cairns to follow. On a nice day, one can enjoy the beautiful view all the way to Folgefonna.
In the winter, it is great to go cross-country skiing over Vidden, but note that the season can vary a lot from year to year. It is always advisable to check the message before heading out!
We encourage you to show consideration for nature and the environment. Please help us keep our beautiful mountains untouched for future visitors.
